SalmonFest Seattle
Lake City (our Seattle neighborhood) celebrated the 74th anniversary of its SalmonFest festival last weekend. SalmonFest has salmon bakes, a vintage car show, a street fair, a parade, etc. This was our first year going to the festival (last year, we were out of town… not sure about the year before). We had spent the afternoon with … Continue reading
End of July Update
Here’s what we’ve been up to over the last week: Woodland Park Zoo My Aunt Brooke took her kids to Woodland Park Zoo on Tuesday and since I’m only 5 miles from the zoo, she asked if I wanted to join them. Yes, of course! 🙂 I brought my camera with and the three pictures above were … Continue reading
4th of July & Raspberries
I hope you all had a fun 4th of July! Nick, Amanda, and I went over to Dad’s for a BBQ. We watched the Brazil vs. Colombia quarter-finals World Cup game, ate some yummy food, and went on a spontaneous trip to a couple parks in Renton, where we played on the playground and saw salmon … Continue reading
Emerald Downs Horse Racing
Last Sunday was Father’s Day and to celebrate, we took Dad out to Emerald Downs, the local horse racing track. We couldn’t believe how busy it was! None of us had ever seen such a crowd there. We even had to give up on getting garlic fries because of how massive the line was. Nick … Continue reading
May Update
Hi, everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates. Nick and I are both doing great; we just haven’t had much to blog about lately. Here’s what we’ve been up to: Mariners Game Mom won tickets to a Mariners game in a raffle at work, so Nick and I spent Mother’s Day at Safeco Field with … Continue reading
Christmas Ships
Since 1949, the Christmas Ship Festival has been a Seattle tradition. The Argosy Christmas Ship sails to parks and communities throughout Lake Washington, Lake Union, and Elliott Bay and performs for the people on shore. Seattleites also deck their boats out in Christmas lights and decorations and follow the cruise ship around. Last year, Uncle … Continue reading
Grocery Shopping Adventure
I spent Monday with Mom and Amanda because I had an eye doctor appointment in their neck of the woods. They live in one of the most ethnically diverse zip codes in the country, so there are lots of interesting people and places in the area. They were excited to show me their closest grocery … Continue reading
Veterans Day
I hope you all enjoyed your Veterans Day holiday yesterday! Nick had the day off, so we had planned on going to The Museum of Flight with Dad and Amanda. It’s the largest private air and space museum in the world and it’s located right next to Boeing Field. The problem was that the museum’s … Continue reading
UW Husky Football Game
Nick and I went to last night’s UW football game with Grandma and Uncle Eric. They played against California and won 41-17. Go Huskies! Eric sported his usual WSU jersey and the opposing team’s hat. (There is a big UW vs. WSU rivalry, like the U of M vs. MSU rivalry in Michigan. Eric went … Continue reading
Trip to Leavenworth
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I went to Leavenworth with Grandma and her sister, Martha Sue. Leavenworth is a Bavarian town just over 2 hours east of Seattle, on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains. For you Michiganders, it’s a lot like Frankenmuth, only a bit smaller and there’s no gigantic Bronner’s Christmas store. 😉 I … Continue reading
