Woodland Park Zoo: Valentine’s Day Celebration

Woodland Park Zoo gave the animals special treats today to celebrate Valentine’s Day, so Nick and I went to take pictures. The lions were our first stop. Adia (mom) and Xerxes (dad) had three male lion cubs at the end of October and it was our first time seeing the baby lions. Xerxes hurt his paw earlier … Continue reading »

Woodland Park Zoo

As a Christmas present for ourselves, Nick and I got annual memberships to Woodland Park Zoo. It’s only 5 miles from home and, if nothing else, it’s a good excuse to go for a walk and practice photography. Nick and I went to the zoo over the weekend. It was kind of a gloomy day (not … Continue reading »

Emerald Downs Horse Racing

Last Sunday was Father’s Day and to celebrate, we took Dad out to Emerald Downs, the local horse racing track. We couldn’t believe how busy it was! None of us had ever seen such a crowd there. We even had to give up on getting garlic fries because of how massive the line was. Nick … Continue reading »

Chihuly Garden and Glass On Mother’s Day, a friend of Mom’s from Sweden was visiting, so we (Mom, Amanda, Nick, and I) showed her around downtown Seattle. Opening Day of Boating Season

Yesterday was the Opening Day of the boating season in Seattle and Uncle Peter invited us to join him on his boat for the festivities (thanks, Uncle Peter!). The weather wasn’t supposed to be that great (partly cloudy and temps in the low-50’s – compared to nearly 70 today!), but it was actually pretty nice, … Continue reading »

Mount Baker Ridge Viewpoint Photo

Incredible sunset photo of Seattle by Darrell Benedict. It’s taken from the Mount Baker Ridge Viewpoint, so I guess Nick and I will have to take our camera there sometime. 😉
