On Sunday morning, Grandma and some of her friends (one of whom is a pancreatic cancer survivor) participated in PurpleStride Puget Sound, a fundraiser walk to support the fight against pancreatic cancer. It was located at Magnuson Park (right across the street from us), so Nick and I walked down to the park to cheer them on. I couldn’t believe how many people were there! There was seemingly infinite sea of people wearing purple for the event. Needless to say, that made finding Grandma pretty difficult – especially because she wasn’t familiar with the park. Nick and I had a good walk ourselves before we met up with her by the finish line.
On Sunday evening, Mom called to say that she and Amanda and were going to be up in Capitol Hill for a couple hours before going to Compline at St. Mark’s Cathedral. There were so many restaurants to choose from, so I think we were all glad when Mom chose to go to Galerias Gourmet Mexican Restaurant. Mom and Amanda had soup with chicken, tomato, garlic, and lemon. Nick and I split an order of beef fajitas, which was yummy. We sat next to a strange giant pot of flowers and we shared silly stories. At one point, I started laughing because Amanda’s laughter was silly and then Mom and Nick joined in laughing… and we were all laughing because we were laughing. Perpetual laughing!
Nick and I went out to dinner with Mom and Dad last night, too. We went to Mizu Steakhouse and had hibachi dinners. It was pretty much identical to Benihana and everything tasted great.
Since Daylight Saving Time ended, it’s been getting dark starting around 5pm, so it is dark by the time Nick gets home. I guess it’s that time of year, though! At least we’ve been enjoying the beautiful fall colors. 🙂
