Yesterday marked our one week anniversary of living in Seattle. Woo!Β The weather is sunny and 70 degrees right now and we have a beautiful weekend ahead of us. I’m glad we aren’t dealing with the heat that the rest of the country is putting up with. π
We haven’t blogged in a few days, so I’ll fill you in on what’s been happening. Nick is still very happy at his job and he *loves* the public transportation here. I think he’s planning on writing a blog post about it soon. My ORCA card came in the mail today, so I’ll be able to start using public transportation soon, too.
On Wednesday, I visited Mom and Amanda at their house. We went out to lunch at Grand Central Bakery and then I spent a few hours going through boxes of my old things at Mom’s. For dinner, Nick and I had thai food from Marlai Thai. Last night, Nick and I went out to dinner at Boom Noodle with my friend, Danika. We tried to go to Trophy Cupcakes for dessert, but they were closed. Aww! There have sure been lots of social activities and eating out for the two of us homebodies! We’re having fun trying new things, though. π
I’ve been following the Oslo bombing and shooting throughout the day today. This morning (afternoon in Norway), a bomb exploded at government headquarters in Oslo and two hours later, there was a shooting attack at a youth camp on an island near Oslo. 7 people were killed from the bombing and 10 or 25-30 people (depending on your source) were killed from the shooting. Very sad. π Police arrested a 32-year-old Norwegian man for the shooting and believe he may also be responsible for the bombing.
