Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Nick and I spent the holiday with about a dozen family members at my uncle’s house. I made Muddy Buddies, Andes mint cookies, and my Great Grandma’s 3-layer Jello salad. Everything tasted great, even though my Jello salad morphed into Jello soup (Sorry, everyone! Grandpa figured out what I did wrong, so it should turn out better next time).

In other news, I got myself eyeglasses over the weekend! Amanda went with me to help pick out frames and we ended up going with the first pair of frames I tried on. After my glasses were ready, I didn’t notice a difference until the guy had me turn around and read the text above the door on the far side of the store. I’m pretty sure I actually squealed as I rattled off what the text said. It was so exciting to be able to see things that were just a blur before.

After we left the store, I couldn’t stop looking at signs and comparing them with glasses on and glasses off. One sign had a bunch of dragonflies on it and said you should count the dragonflies. Without my glasses on, I could still count dragonflies… I just couldn’t read the text that suggested that I do so. 😉 I was so anxious to go home and see what it was like to watch TV with my glasses on. Wow! It was like the difference in picture quality between a standard-definition TV and a high-definition TV. Everything was suddenly crystal clear… and the eye doctor said my eyes aren’t even that bad!
